Services Management Systems & Compliance

Management systems that work in practice

A good management system should help you run your business, not simply produce a folder of policies. I help organisations turn requirements into clear processes, practical documentation and responsibilities people understand.

The result: more consistent work, less rework, safer workplaces and readiness for audits, with a system your staff can actually use.

Management-system support aligned with relevant ISO standards and their Australian/New Zealand adoptions.

Sound familiar?

Problems this helps solve

  • A customer or tender asks for ISO 9001 or another certification
  • An audit is coming up and you're not sure where you stand
  • Procedures exist on paper but aren't followed day to day
  • Quality, safety and food safety paperwork overlaps or contradicts itself
  • It isn't clear who is responsible for safety or compliance tasks

How Think Consulting helps

Examples of support

  • Gap assessments

Compare what you do now with the standard or requirements, and list what matters most.

  • Practical procedures

Policies, procedures, forms and records that match how the work is really done.

  • Implementation

Put the system in place in stages, with staff awareness and clear responsibilities.

  • Internal audits

Check the system is working, record findings and follow through on corrective actions.

  • Certification preparation

Get ready for a certification audit and address findings afterwards.

  • Integrated systems

Bring several systems together so shared processes are documented once.

Four areas

Systems for quality, safety, environment and food safety

Quality management

ISO 9001

Deliver consistent products and services through a quality management system built around your customers, processes and business objectives. I can help map key activities, establish responsibilities and develop procedures and records that support reliable day-to-day delivery.

Implementation support can include document control, staff awareness, internal audits, corrective actions and management review. The aim is a useful system that helps identify problems, reduce repeat mistakes and support continual improvement.

Occupational health and safety

ISO 45001

Bring a structured approach to managing workplace health and safety, with clear responsibilities and practical controls. Support can include identifying hazards, assessing risks, documenting safe ways of working and establishing processes for consultation, training and incident reporting.

The system should connect with everyday operations rather than sit separately from them. Regular review, internal audits and corrective actions help the organisation understand what is working and where further attention is needed.

Environmental management

ISO 14001

Understand how your activities affect the environment and establish a practical framework for managing those impacts. I can help organise environmental responsibilities, objectives, operational controls and records around the needs of your business.

This may include resource use, waste, relevant compliance obligations and monitoring environmental performance. The focus is on clear priorities and achievable improvement, supported by processes your team can maintain.

Food safety management

ISO 22000 and HACCP principles

Develop a systematic approach to identifying and controlling food safety hazards across your operations. Depending on the agreed scope, support can include process mapping, hazard analysis, prerequisite programmes and HACCP-based controls within an ISO 22000 management-system framework.

Translate those requirements into practical procedures for receiving, storage, preparation, cleaning, allergen management and traceability. Monitoring, corrective actions, verification and staff awareness help make the system part of daily practice.

Integrated management systems

One coordinated system

Quality, health and safety, environmental and food safety systems often share common processes. Bringing them together can reduce duplicated documentation and create a clearer approach to responsibilities, training, document control, audits and improvement.

I build custom, practical solutions that fit the business: identifying what can be shared while retaining the specific controls each area requires. The result is a coordinated system suited to the organisation, rather than several disconnected manuals.

  2. Review what you haveOn site where possible: processes, documents, records and how work actually happens.
  3. Agree a practical planThe scope, the standards that apply and a sensible order of work.
  4. Implement and improveBuild it with your team, then check it through internal audit and review.

Common questions

About the standards

Support is aligned with the relevant ISO standards and their Australian/New Zealand adoptions: ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety), ISO 14001 (environmental) and ISO 22000 (food safety).

HACCP is a method for identifying and controlling food safety hazards, not an ISO standard. Food businesses must also meet the applicable Australian food safety requirements, including the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code where it applies. A management system can help organise how you meet them.

Standards are revised from time to time. The edition that applies to you is confirmed as part of agreeing the scope.

Can Think Consulting certify my business?

No. Certification is carried out by an independent certification body. I help you build and run a system that works, prepare for the certification audit and address any findings.

Do I need certification, or just a good system?

Not every business needs certification. Some need it for customers or tenders; others simply want the benefits of a well-run system. We can work out which applies to you before you commit to anything.

Which audits do you help with?

Internal audits, and preparation for certification audits, including working through any findings.

Is this legal advice?

No. The support is practical and operational. Certification to a standard does not by itself meet every legal or regulatory obligation that applies to your business, and specific legal questions should go to a qualified adviser.

Working on a management system?

Whether it's a new system, an existing one that needs simplifying, or an audit coming up, tell me where things stand.
